19/10/18 – 5mins
The freshness breaks hard against our backs,
Cruel, unforgiving, unfamiliar.
But, something else… something
New and altogether different.
Again, freshness coils around us, encircling,
All-enveloping, overwhelming.
Taken to dizzy new heights
The light! The light!
Somewhere altogether different.
I have never tasted such clean air
Together, no more divided, we spread
Our wings and forgo the losses of
Our ancestors.
For they were foolish then,
And we are wise now.
I have never felt this confident.
All is colour. All is sound.
All is new and beautiful.
Together, strong, unified. We stand
Tall and spread our wings in a vibrant myriad of shades,
Flexing tendrils reaching out.
The new pollinators have arrived.
