Frostbite.

January 29, 2019 by Finlay Porter

Feels dangerous. In some indescribable ways.
Hardly a feeling, more of a thought. It is
Barely tangible.

The cold seeps in under the doorstep,
You can’t escape its gentle caress.
Gentle but deadly.

We were always told to watch out for the cold.
At the time it seemed silly: of course
We would be careful.

But something so gentle can hardly be
Dangerous? Or so we thought.
Naive and young.

I can barely feel my face now. All that is left
Is the light. Bright blinding light.
Caressing me as I fall asleep.
